The brief
Coverage for a long, busy road
Travellers between Benin City and Auchi lost signal for long stretches. A rural connectivity fund and one operator asked for a tall tower that could also carry future tenants and a microwave relay.
The plot sat on soft ground beside a farm road. We laid the access road first, poured a raft foundation in two dry windows and kept a pump on site through August.
The tower carries a solar hybrid system sized for six tenants and a 2.4 kilometre fibre spur to the highway duct.
A tall tower on a farm road in the rains is not easy. They kept the farm family on side and the crew safe, and finished in March.
