The dry season is the best time of year to be outside after dark in Port Harcourt. The evenings cool, the sky clears and the lagoon goes still enough to reflect the Lantern Wheel. So from this weekend, the park stays open until eleven on Saturdays and Sundays.
The Glow Parade has a new route. It now starts on Palm Ridge at 18:30, crosses the boardwalk in Mangrove Hollow and finishes in Lantern Square, so the lights switch on land by land just ahead of the dancers. The best place to watch is the top deck of the Firefly Carousel.
Lagoon Lights moves to 20:00 every open day, and the Sky show runs at 21:30 every Saturday. Families can send a birthday name by Thursday evening through the chat or WhatsApp, and the drones write a few of them in the sky each week.
The lights come on land by land, just ahead of the dancers.

The dusk pass, from 17:00, is now N11,000 for adults and N8,000 for children, example rates. It covers every ride, every evening show and Lagoon Bay until it closes at 19:00. Annual pass holders get two Night Owl evenings with the park to themselves in February.
The free shuttle from the Aba Road and Rumuola pick-up points now runs until 23:30 at weekends, and the last Tortoise Express leaves at 21:00 for anyone carrying a sleeping child back to the gate.
