What this degree gives you

Software Engineering at Oakhurst blends computer science foundations with the habits of professional teams: version control from week one, code review, testing and shipping to real users.

FAQ

Software Engineering: your questions

Do I need to know how to code before I start?

No. 100 level starts from first principles, and our two-week coding bootcamp in September helps beginners catch up.

What laptop do I need?

Any laptop with 8 GB of memory and a recent processor. Students can borrow one from the library for the session if needed.

Is SIWES placement arranged for me?

We place every student with a partner employer for six months in 300 level, and you can propose your own.

Can I switch to Computer Science later?

Yes, the first two years share most courses, so a switch at the end of 200 level is straightforward.
