Families travelled from across Nigeria and beyond for the thirteenth convocation, with 4,000 guests in the arena and more than 9,000 watching the live stream.
A record class
The class of 2026 numbers 1,486 graduates across six schools, with 212 first class degrees. Nursing Science and Accounting produced the largest groups, and 140 graduates received postgraduate awards.
A first for architecture
Forty-two architecture graduates became the first cohort to study all five years in the restored Arcade Building studios. Their thesis exhibition on climate-smart markets drew visitors from three Abuja planning firms.
You arrived at the gate as strangers. You leave as a class, and as our newest ambassadors.

Honours and prizes
The Chancellor's medal went to a Health Information Management graduate who combined a 4.92 CGPA with founding a student health records project in two primary health centres.
What comes next
The Vice-Chancellor told graduates that their degree is a beginning, not a finish line, and asked each to mentor one student from the next intake through the alumni network.
Graduates collect certificates from the Registry from 20 October. Transcripts can be requested through the portal and sent abroad by courier.
