The road changed everything

The improved Lagos to Abeokuta road brought Ikeja within about ninety minutes on a good day. Owners who work from home part of the week tell us they come into Lagos two or three days and spend the rest in Abeokuta.

Space for the money

A 600 sqm plot in a serviced Abeokuta estate costs less than a two bedroom flat in many parts of Lagos. Families use the space for a proper compound, a garden and a room for visiting parents.

Schools and health

Abeokuta has a long tradition of good schools, from primary to university. Owners mention short school runs and calmer mornings more than anything else.

A city with roots

Under Olumo Rock, Abeokuta has history, markets and a strong sense of community. Many buyers have family ties to Ogun State and like the idea of coming home.

Things to weigh up

Commuting every day to Lagos is tiring, and some services are still catching up. Visit on a weekday, try the drive and talk to people who already live here.
