Outgrower programme

Farm your own land, with our seed, our training and a buyer waiting.

Over 2,300 smallholders across Anambra and Delta grow cassava, maize and rice with Agrovia. We supply inputs before the rains, visit every fortnight and buy the harvest at a price agreed before planting.

How it works

One season with Agrovia, in five steps

  1. Apply in January or February

Tell us your crop, your land and your experience. An extension officer visits to walk the plot and test the soil.

  2. Sign the season agreement

A one page agreement in English and Igbo: the input pack, its cost, the buying price and the delivery window.

  3. Receive your input pack

Stems or seed, fertiliser and crop protection delivered to your village before the first rains.

  4. Grow with support

Fortnightly visits, a WhatsApp group for your area and our AI line for questions at any hour.

  5. Deliver and get paid

We weigh at a collection point near you, deduct the input pack and pay the balance by bank transfer within 48 hours.

Questions

Before you apply

What if the harvest fails?

If drought, flood or disease affects your whole area, the unpaid part of the input pack rolls into next season with no extra charge. We look at each case with your officer.

Must I sell all my harvest to Agrovia?

You agree to sell enough to cover the input pack plus the quantity in your agreement. Anything beyond that you may sell where you like.

Do I need a bank account?

Yes, or a cooperative account. Your officer can help you open one with a bank agent in your town.

Can a cooperative apply together?

Yes. Cooperatives of ten or more farmers get one officer and a shared collection point.
