Find your level
Six questions for children and adults. Answer for how things are today; the pool fills as you go, and we suggest a class with its times and fee.
How we place swimmers
The finder is a first guess. The coach makes the final call in the trial lesson.
Age
Groups keep similar ages together, so nobody feels too big or too small.
Comfort
Face in water and floating matter more than distance for beginners.
Distance
How far without stopping tells us about stamina and breathing.
Goal
Safety, strokes, fitness or racing: the same skill can need different classes.
Nervous swimmers welcome
If your child, or you, is frightened of water, choose the first answer honestly. We will place them with a coach who specialises in confidence, in a class of no more than four.
