Scene 04: drop off and collectTailorbird Alterations
Ring Road, Ibadan

Drop off at nine, collect at five

How tickets, fittings, pickup times and our Ibadan rider work. Small jobs dropped before 11am are ready the same day.

SC 01Step by step

From your wardrobe to ours and back

  1. Send a photo or walk in

WhatsApp a photo of the garment and say what is wrong, or come straight to the shop on Ring Road.

  2. Try it on and pin it

Wear the shoes you will wear on the day. We pin, chalk and agree the price before any cutting.

  3. Get your ticket

A paper ticket and a WhatsApp message with your pickup time. Same ticket number on both.

  4. We sew it

Our machines run on solar and an inverter, so a power cut does not push your date back.

  5. Collect or receive it

Pressed, bagged and checked. Pay by transfer, POS or cash.

Rider times avoid the worst of the Challenge and Mokola traffic: collections run 12pm to 3pm, returns 4pm to 7pm.

SC 04Measuring at home

Cannot come in for a fitting?

For hems and waists we can work from a garment that already fits you well. Send it with the one to alter and we copy the length or waist exactly.

For a trouser hem, put the trousers on with your shoes, fold the leg to where you want it and pin it with a safety pin. That one pin tells us everything.

What to bring

The garment, the shoes for the day and, for native wear, the whole set. If you have spare fabric from the tailor who sewed it, bring that too.

Uncollected items

We keep garments for 60 days and send two reminders on WhatsApp. After that we donate them to a local church clothing drive.

Care after collection

Iron lace on the wrong side, wash ankara inside out in cold water and hang agbada on a wide hanger so the shoulders stay sharp.

SC 05Drop off questions

Questions about collection

Can someone else collect for me?

Yes. Send us their name on WhatsApp and they show the ticket or your phone number.

What if I need it earlier than planned?

Call or WhatsApp us. If the bench allows, we move it up for the next day charge.

Do you open on public holidays?

We open from 10am to 4pm on most public holidays, except Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

Book a rider for this afternoon

Message us before noon with your street and the garment, and we will collect today.
