The team and the place
Ridgeback started in 2014 with four runs and one stubborn Rhodesian Ridgeback. Today six trainers and a kennel crew look after up to 40 dogs a day.
The crew
First names only on this demo. Every trainer holds a reward based training certificate and canine first aid.
Head trainer

Trainer, puppies and group classes
Runs Puppy foundations and Saturday manners. Patient with the loudest litters.
Kennel manager
Keeps 24 runs clean, fed and calm. Writes most of the evening report cards.
Groomer
Trained in coat care and safe handling of nervous dogs. Ticks do not stand a chance.
Our method
Dogs repeat what pays. We mark the moment a dog gets it right and pay with food, play or praise. We never use pain, fear or collars that hurt. When a dog gets it wrong, we make the next try easier.
Every programme ends with a written plan so you can keep going at home.
The place
Since 2014
Tamuno starts boarding friends' dogs behind his house.
The first group classes on a cleared plot next door.
Power that holds through outages and the rainy season.
Larger rooms with yards and cameras for owners.
From puppies to calm watchdogs, all reward based.
They remembered that our dog eats slowly and is scared of thunder. Small things, but they matter.
Tamuno explained every step and never shouted at our dog or at us.
