Our story
Amber Room began as a small listening bar above a tailor's shop. Five years on it is a 140-seat lounge, still run by the same two friends.
Who we are
Boma Fiberesima spent ten years running hotel bars in Lagos and Accra. Chinedu Okafor managed live venues and knew every band in the South-South. In 2021 they came home to Port Harcourt and opened the lounge they wanted to go to: warm, well run and good for both a quiet drink and a big night.
We are now a team of 46, nearly all from Rivers State, and more than half have been with us since the first year.

Milestones
Twenty seats and a record player above a tailor's shop on Aba Road.
We move into a former warehouse in GRA Phase 2 and build the long walnut bar.
The Delta Blue Quartet play their first set to 30 people. Now it is our second busiest night.
Rooftop solar, an inverter bank and a quiet generator mean the music never cuts.
A full charcoal grill and a late menu until 1am at weekends.

What we stand for
Adults only, trained door staff, free water on every table and help getting home.
Honey from Oyo, palm wine from Etche, fish from the Rivers coast. We name our suppliers on the menu.
Living wages, paid training and a ride home for every staff member after a late shift.
Solar, inverters and backup power so the room is always lit and always cool.
Amber Room is the place I take visitors to show them Port Harcourt at its best. Unhurried, generous and properly run.
Pull up a stool at the bar and ask Boma what she is working on for next season.
