About Ember
Started with one camera and a borrowed generator
Ember Studios began in 2014 in a rented room in Effurun. Today we run a 400 m² stage, two edit suites and a boat, and we still answer our own phone.
Our first camera, still on the shelf.
Our story
Twelve years in five frames
One room, one camera
Oghenekaro starts shooting wedding films and music videos from a rented room off Refinery Road.
The first commercial
A 30 second spot for a local bakery runs on regional television for a year.
Stage One opens
We convert a warehouse into a soundproofed stage with silent power, the first in Effurun.
On the water
A boat, a marine pilot and the documentary unit that made Salt and Signal.
Our first feature
The Ferryman’s Daughter premieres and begins its festival run.
What we believe
Four things we will not trade
Honest budgets
We ask for your range on day one, and we tell you what it can do.
The Delta on screen, properly
Our places, our languages and our faces, lit with care.
Crew comes home safe
Twelve hour days, life jackets on water, and lunch on time.
Finish what we start
Every film on our slate was delivered. Every one.
