Help that fits around you.
We agree with you and your family what help you want, write it into a simple plan, and review it every three months or sooner if anything changes.
Light support
A carer on call day and night, a daily check-in and help when you ask. Included in every room fee.
Daily support
Help at set times with washing, dressing and taking your medicines, plus a carer at meals if you want one.
Full support
Two carers for moving, checks through the night and help with everything, at your pace.
The people who look after you
Sixty-one staff across three shifts: registered nurses, carers, cooks, cleaners, a gardener and two drivers. Most have been with us for years, and many live within walking distance.
We ask first
Before we help with anything, we ask. Every time.
We keep you with your doctor
Your own doctor stays your doctor. We arrange visits and transport, and our visiting doctor sees anyone who wants an appointment.
We keep families in the loop
A named carer for each resident and a WhatsApp update for families every week, with your permission.
We write it down
Your support plan, your preferences and what matters to you, in plain words.
“The night carer sits with my father for ten minutes every evening, just to talk. Nobody asked her to. That is why we chose Ashgrove.”
Respite stays
Stays of one to six weeks, while a family carer rests or travels, or after a spell in hospital when home is not quite ready. Same room, same care, same garden.
Ask about respiteDo you accept residents who use a wheelchair?
Yes. The ground floor is step-free, the lift serves the first floor and every shower room is level access.
What about memory changes?
Many residents live with some memory changes. A calm routine, familiar faces and a walled garden help, and we talk honestly with families about what we can offer.
Who gives medicines?
Nurses and trained carers, from a locked trolley, recorded every time. We never change medicines without your doctor.
What if someone becomes unwell at night?
The nurse on duty decides with the family and the doctor what to do next, and calls an ambulance if needed.
