A quiet clinic for honest skin care
Verano opened in 2019 in a converted bungalow in Ewet Housing, with one treatment room, one doctor and a simple idea: people with melanin-rich skin deserve care that is gentle, informed and truthful.
Why we started
Dr Ememobong Ekanem spent years treating patients who had been burned by harsh products, bleached by creams bought in the market, or promised miracles by people with no training. Many had darker marks after treatment than before.
She opened Verano to do the opposite: slow, careful treatment planned around deeper skin tones, with clear prices and clear limits. Seven years on, the bungalow has five treatment rooms, a relaxation lounge and a garden, and the idea has not changed.

Doctor-led
Every medical treatment is planned by a doctor or trained nurse, never a salesperson.
Patch test first
Peels, laser and microneedling always start with a patch test and a written aftercare note.
Honest limits
Results vary from person to person and no outcome is promised. Every treatment starts with a conversation about what is realistic for your skin.
Gentle by default
We would rather go slowly and safely than chase quick results that cost your skin later.
Cool, calm and never dark
Five treatment rooms, a relaxation lounge with herbal tea from the garden, and a steam room for massage clients. The clinic runs on solar power with battery backup, so treatments never stop halfway and the rooms stay cool in the Uyo heat.

Are you a hospital?
No. We are a doctor-led clinic and spa. If you need hospital care, we will refer you.
Do you treat men?
Yes. About a third of our clients are men, most often for breakouts, razor bumps, laser and massage.
Can I bring my child?
Teenagers aged 13 to 17 can be seen for acne with a parent present. Younger children cannot be treated.
Do you sell skincare?
A small range of gentle cleansers, moisturisers and sunscreens chosen for deeper skin tones, with no pressure to buy.
