Why tread matters

Stopping on a wet Warri road

New tyres have about 8 mm of tread. The law minimum is 1.6 mm, but on a rainy evening on the DSC expressway, a car on 2 mm needs far longer to stop than one on 5 mm. That is why we suggest a change at 3 mm.

Warri roads knock wheels out of line. Pulling to one side, a crooked steering wheel or the inside edge of a tyre wearing bald are the signs. Our four-wheel laser rig measures camber, caster and toe, and you get the before and after figures on paper.
