Parents

Safety, care and packing

What we do to keep every child safe, well and happy, and what to send with them each morning.

Vetted, trained staff

Every counsellor has references checked, a police clearance, and five days of training in safeguarding, first aid and activity safety before camp opens.

Nurse on site

A registered nurse is on site every day and on every overnight, with a sick bay, and a partner clinic ten minutes away on Marian Road.

Water safety

Swim tests on day one, coloured wristbands by ability, qualified lifeguards at the pool and a safety boat on every lagoon trip.

Health

Allergies and medicines

Tell us about allergies and medical needs when you enrol. The nurse builds a care card for your child, their counsellors carry it, and the kitchen keeps a printed list. We are a nut aware camp and cook without groundnuts.

Medicines are handed to the nurse in their original packaging with your written instructions. Children with inhalers or adrenaline pens keep one with their counsellor and a spare in the sick bay.

Bunk beds in a dormitory room

Bunk rooms at the forest base, with counsellors sleeping at each end.

Parent questions

The ones we hear most

Can I visit during the day?

Friday showcase at 3pm is open to families. On other days we keep the gates closed for safety, but you can always phone the office.

What if my child is unwell?

The nurse calls you straight away. If they need to go home, we keep them comfortable in the sick bay until you arrive.

What is your photo policy?

Photos go only to your class WhatsApp group unless you opt in to our gallery. You can opt out entirely.

How do you handle homesickness?

Counsellors are trained to spot it early. We keep children busy, and the group lead will call you if it lasts.

What happens during a power cut?

Our hall, kitchen and sick bay run on a solar and inverter system with a generator as backup.
