About the role
Our client is a payments platform serving online merchants across West Africa. The engineering team of 25 works fully remote from across Nigeria. You will join the payments core squad building the services that move money between banks, wallets and merchants.
What you will do
- Design, build and run backend services for payments and settlement
- Write well tested code and review others' pull requests
- Improve reliability during peak traffic such as month end and holidays
- Work with product and compliance on new payment methods
- Take part in a fair on call rota, one week in six
What you bring
- Four or more years building backend services in a typed language
- Experience with relational databases and message queues
- Understanding of payments, ledgers or financial systems is a plus
- Clear written communication for a remote team
