Why it matters
From June to September, some of the roads our trucks run every week become slower and less predictable. Washouts, flooded underpasses and long diversions add hours, and a tired driver pushing to make up time is how accidents happen.
Longer transit, same price
We add half a day to transit times on the Lokoja, Ore and Onitsha corridors during the rains and say so in every quote. We do not add a rainy season surcharge, because the alternative, rushing, costs everyone more.
Route watch
Our dispatch desk keeps a live list of road conditions reported by our own drivers. If a section floods, trucks are held at the last guarded park until it is safe, and the shipper is told within 30 minutes along with a new arrival time.
Packing advice
For bagged goods, ask for tarpaulins on flatbeds, which we fit at no cost. For cartons, choose a box truck or curtain-sider. Pallets wrapped in film survive the season far better than loose stacks.
