Since 2009 About the press
A press with ink under its nails
Started with one second hand offset press in a garage in Ewet Housing. Still family run, now with four machines and a counter that knows most customers by name.
01 Our story
Started with wedding cards
In 2009 the founder, a retired newspaper printer, bought a tired offset press and printed wedding invitations for neighbours. Word travelled from one owambe to the next.
Today we print for shops, churches, schools, clinics and families across Akwa Ibom. We have kept the old press. It still runs our two colour letterheads, and it reminds us that good print is about patience.
Story and dates are examples for this demo.
02 The machines
What runs in the workshop
Cards, flyers and programmes up to SRA3, with consistent colour from the first sheet to the last.
The original 2009 press. Letterheads, receipt books and long runs of one colour work.
Flex banners and roll ups up to 3.2 metres wide, with eco solvent ink that survives the sun.
Four colour carousel for T shirts and tote bags, cured in a tunnel dryer.
Clean cuts, round corners and matte or gloss lamination in house.
Kiss cuts custom shapes for jar labels and stickers on rolls.
03 Power and promises
The press does not wait for the grid
A 40 kVA generator, a solar array on the roof and inverters on the digital press mean a power cut does not move your delivery day.
- Standard jobs delivered on the promised day, 98 percent of the time, example figure
- Climate controlled paper store, so stock does not curl in the rainy season
- A second digital press on standby for express weeks in December
04 The team
People at the press
Names are examples for this demo.
Founder and press master. Still checks every offset job by eye.
Runs the counter and every quote. Knows the price breaks by heart.
Designer. Turns voice notes and sketches into print ready files.
Large format and screen print. Fastest roll up builder in Uyo.
05 Close to home
Printing for Uyo
Every year we print exam timetables for two local schools at cost, and the programme for the estate carol service for free. Apprentices from the technical college spend six weeks on our floor each summer.
Our paper offcuts go to a nursery school for craft time, and waste ink is collected by a licensed recycler.
