If surgery is suggested
Honest guidance, no pressure.
Cataract surgery is one of the most common eye operations. Whether and when to have it depends on how much the cataract affects your life. If you decide to go ahead, we refer you to a partner surgical centre in Port Harcourt and see you for checks afterwards.
Results differ from person to person and your surgeon will explain the risks and benefits for your eyes.
Questions
Good to know.
Ask anything else when you book, or call +234 800 000 0501.
Is a cataract an emergency?
Usually not. Cataracts develop slowly. Sudden loss of vision, pain or flashes of light are different and need urgent care.
Can glasses help?
In early cataracts, an updated prescription and good lighting often help for a while.
Will I need someone with me?
Yes, ideally. The drops blur vision for a few hours, so please do not drive yourself home.
