About

A family nursery on Jakpa Road

Evergreen began in 2012 when Mrs Tega Omagbemi (example) turned the family compound in Effurun into a plant nursery. Two acres later, it is still run by the family and twelve gardeners.

Our story

From a backyard to two acres

It started with cuttings from a neighbour's bougainvillea and a sign on the gate. People kept asking which plants would survive the rainy season, and which would not, and the care cards began as handwritten notes taped to pots.

Today we grow most of our shrubs and herbs from seed and cuttings on site, and buy houseplants and fruit seedlings from trusted growers in Delta, Edo and Oyo. Everything sits in our shade houses for at least two weeks before sale, so it is used to Warri before it reaches you.
