About Bellmont
We opened on First Avenue in 2009 with three floors and a coffee counter. Today we are six floors, 210 staff and 140 Nigerian makers, still family run.
A store for the neighbourhood
Bellmont began when the founders, tired of driving across Abuja for a good shirt and a decent pot, rented a half finished building on First Avenue. The first floor sold clothes, the second sold home goods, and the ground floor was a coffee counter that became the meeting point of Gwarinpa.
We added floors as the neighbourhood grew: children in 2013, menswear in 2016, the Terrace in 2021. Every floor has a team that knows its stock, and we still pay our makers within 14 days.
