The fabric library
Rub counts tell you how hard-wearing a fabric is. Above 25,000 is fine for a family sofa; above 40,000 suits heavy use.

Hold the real thing
Drawings are a start; cloth is better. We bring a sample bag to every pickup quote, and you can borrow up to five swatches for three days to see them in your own light. Bring your own fabric too: we charge labour only and check it is strong enough before we cut.

Which fabric is best with children?
Ticking stripe, faux leather or a dark velvet. All three clean easily and hide marks.
Does wax print last on a sofa?
Yes, when backed. We bond heavy wax print to calico, which doubles its life. It suits accent chairs best.
How do you work out the metres?
From the size of the piece, the pattern repeat and the direction of the pile. Bold prints need more fabric to match across cushions.
