Savings plans

Five ways to put a little aside.

Every member has ordinary savings. Most add one or two other plans for a goal. You can change your amounts once a quarter.

Chapter 01

Ordinary savings.

The account every member has. It earns your place in the society and decides how much you can borrow.

  • From ₦5,000 a month
  • Borrow up to three times your balance
  • Returned in full when you leave
  • Members may vote a dividend on it at the AGM

Chapter 02

Target savings.

Pick a goal, an amount and a date. We lock it until then, which is the point.

  • 6 to 24 months
  • From ₦10,000 a month
  • Paid out on your date, by transfer
  • Early release only for emergencies, with committee approval

Chapter 03

Children’s future and festive savings.

Two plans built around the calendar: school terms and the holidays.

Children’s future

From ₦2,000 a month per child. Paid out two weeks before each school term, or straight to the school if you prefer.

Festive savings

From ₦3,000 a month. Paid out two weeks before Christmas and two weeks before Sallah, so the festival is paid for in advance.

Chapter 04

Share capital.

Your ownership of the society. One share is ₦20,000. Each member must hold at least one, and may hold up to fifty.

In 2025 members voted a dividend of 6.5 percent on ordinary savings and share capital (example figure). That was a decision about one year’s surplus; past dividends do not promise future ones, and some years members choose none.

Questions

Can I save more than my monthly amount?

Yes, any time, by transfer or on the pay page.

What if I miss a month?

Tell us. Two missed months in a row pause your borrowing until you catch up.

Is there interest on savings?

Not a fixed rate. Members may vote a dividend from the year’s surplus at the AGM.

How do I see my balance?

Ask at the office or on WhatsApp. Members also get a statement every quarter.
