Two friends, one camera and a lot of tape

Halima Yusuf and Daniel Okafor started Shutterbloom in 2019 with one booth in a Gwarinpa garage. Six booths and over 700 events later, we still tape every print wall by hand.

Our story

Why bloom?

Halima was a wedding photographer who noticed that guests loved the five minutes in front of a backdrop more than the official photos. Daniel built the first booth from a camera, a laptop and a ring light.

The name came from their first big job, a flower wall for a Maitama wedding. Guests called the prints their bloom photos and it stuck.

Today we run six booths, eight backdrops and a crew of nine attendants who know how to make anyone look good.
