Kestrel House take the inter-house sports shield for a third year
A new record in the girls' relay, a tug of war final decided by inches and the loudest stand in the history of the college.
The rain held off, the generator was not needed for the public address system, and by 7:30am the stands were already full of parents in house colours. It was, by general agreement, the best sports day in years.
The day in brief
Thirty two track and field events ran from 8am to 3pm, with every student in the college competing in at least one. The junior girls' 4 by 100 metres relay set the tone early when Kestrel's team broke a record that had stood since 2011, finishing in 52.8 seconds.

Thank you to the parents who came, the PTA for the refreshments, and the grounds staff who marked out the track at 5am. The shield will be presented at prize giving on 5 December.
