Meet Ese

Ese Omatseye has done bridal makeup in Warri for eleven years. She leads a team of three artists and still does every lead bride herself.

From a corner of her aunt’s salon

Ese started on Saturday mornings in her aunt’s salon on Effurun roundabout, doing faces for church thanksgivings. Brides began to ask for her by name.

She opened Petal & Pin in 2019 with one promise: never rush a bride. One lead bride per artist per day, arrival before dawn, and products chosen for deep, warm skin in Delta heat.

The name comes from her grandmother, who pinned flowers into every bride’s hair in their village near Agbarho.
