Story

From the pitches of Enugu to Monarch Park

Somto Nwankwo was playing for a Sunday amateur side when a Monarch scout saw him score four in a single afternoon. Within a month he was training with the first team.

His first season brought eleven goals. This season he is on seven after nine games, the best start by a Monarch striker in a decade.

He credits the club's sports science team for an extra half yard of pace, and his mother's cooking for everything else.
