About the studio
A small studio with a big lamp
Glowpoint began as one table in a front room in Ewet Housing and a WhatsApp catalogue of designs. Clients kept sending friends, and the friends kept asking for something a little louder.
Today we have four tables, a pedicure chair by the window, and a wall of sixteen designs that changes with the seasons. We are still small on purpose. You will know your technician by name, and she will remember the length you like.
Hygiene
What clean looks like here
- Metal tools are scrubbed, then sterilised in a heat steriliser between every client
- Files, buffers and toe separators are single use. You can take yours home
- Tables are wiped with hospital grade disinfectant, and the towel is fresh
- Pedicure basins are lined, drained and disinfected after each guest
- A window extractor runs whenever acrylic is being used
Power and comfort
The lamp never blinks
Gel needs steady light to cure. A dropped current halfway through means soft, peeling nails a week later. So the studio runs on an inverter with solar panels, and the generator is only a backup.
It also means the fan keeps turning, the music keeps playing, and nobody has to sit in the dark with wet polish.
Products
Kind to your nails
We use professional gels, including a HEMA free range for clients with sensitive skin. Removals are soaked off with patience, never prised. If your natural nails need a break, we will say so and suggest a strengthening overlay instead.

Train with us
A six month apprenticeship
Twice a year we take two apprentices from Uyo and nearby. You learn prep, gel, acrylic and art on practice hands first, then on friends, then on clients with a senior technician beside you.
Send a short message and three photos of nails you have done on WhatsApp. No experience is fine, a steady hand and patience matter more.
