[ 03 ] Preparation
Before you come
- 01Fast for 10 to 12 hours. Water is fine, and encouraged.
- 02Book a 6am to 8am home slot so you can eat breakfast straight after.
- 03Avoid a heavy or fatty dinner the evening before.
- 04Keep taking your usual medicines unless told otherwise.

How we run it
Serum is separated in a centrifuge and run on our chemistry analyser. LDL is calculated from the other values, or measured directly if triglycerides are high.
Results come back with a short note on fasting status, so your doctor knows how to read them.

Tell the phlebotomist. We can still run the test and mark it non-fasting, or rebook you for the next morning at no extra call-out fee.
