One barber, one chair, one promise
Sharpline started in 2017 as a single chair in a Gwarinpa shopping plaza. The promise then is the promise now: be on time, keep it clean, cut what the client asked for.
01The story
Started by a barber who hated waiting
Founder Ibrahim Lawal spent his twenties sitting on benches in Abuja barbershops for an hour at a time. In 2017 he rented one chair in a Gwarinpa plaza, bought a diary and took bookings only. Word spread through the estate. By 2020 he needed six chairs and a proper shop on 3rd Avenue.
Today Sharpline is a team of eight: five barbers, two front desk staff and a cleaner who keeps the floor spotless between every cut.

04Community
Back to school cuts, every September
Each September we give free cuts to pupils from two Gwarinpa primary schools. Last year our barbers did 240 cuts across two Saturdays. If your school would like to join, the front desk can tell you how.
I wanted a barbershop where my father, my son and I could all sit in a row and leave happy. That is still the test.
05Careers
Barbers, we are hiring
