Two years of girls night
Thursday used to be our quietest night. Now it has its own league, a waiting list and the loudest cheers on the floor.
By the Arcade Nine crew. Example article for this demo.
How it started
In 2023 Nanret, then a regular on the PC pods, asked why she was usually the only woman on the floor. We asked her to run one night a week her way. The first girls night had nine players.
What makes it work
Women run the desk and the referee table on Thursdays. Beginners get a crew member for their first hour. There is a league with its own points, so people come back every week.
Nine players on the first night. Sixty on the last.
Now
Girls night has a waiting list for the sofa bays, a Rhythm Rush league for under 16s and its own final in season five. Several players now enter the open tournaments too.
