The old problem
A grid cut used to mean a dark pitch for the thirty seconds it took the generator to start, and a smell of diesel for the rest of the evening. Players lost momentum and goals got disputed.
What we built
Solar panels on the stand roof now charge a battery bank that runs all the floodlights. When the batteries run low late at night, the generator starts quietly in the background and the lights never blink.
What changed for players
No more dark pauses, and far less noise and fumes around the pitches. The generator now runs about a third as often as before, which also helps keep our prices steady.
Numbers
Since April, the lights have stayed on through 61 grid cuts without a single blink. These are example figures for this demo.
The lights never blink, and the knees thank us.
