Why we are bringing back the double feature

Once a month, The Lime will show two films for one ticket, with an interval, a raffle and a very long popcorn queue. Here is why.

A night out, not just a film

Older Abuja cinema-goers remember Saturday double bills: two films, an interval, and a whole evening planned around them. We missed that feeling, so we are bringing it back on the last Saturday of each month.

How it works

Doors open at 6pm. The first film starts at 6:30pm, then a 25 minute interval with a raffle and music, then the second film. One ticket covers both, from ₦6,500 for a standard seat.

Choosing the pairs

Each pair has a theme. This season: a comedy with a thriller, two family films for an early double, and an invented classic paired with a new release. Members vote for the next pairing on WhatsApp.

The interval

The interval is half the fun. The snack bar runs a double-bill combo, the projection team shows a short reel of old Abuja cinema adverts we have recreated, and someone always wins a year of popcorn.
